Labyrinth Minotaur was originally released on October 1995 with the release of the Homelands Magic The Gathering edition. This card has since been reprinted in 2 sets, with the artistry all being drawn by the same artist.

With the release of the Fifth Edition version of Labyrinth Minotaur on March 1997, The flavortext on Labyrinth Minotaur was modified to read: "I doubt any labyrinth minotaurs still live—but then we minotaurs are stubborn beings." —Onatah, Anaba shaman
