Inspiration was originally released on February 1997 with the release of the Visions Magic The Gathering edition. This card has since been reprinted in 5 sets, with 2 artists contributing to the various card designs.
With the release of the Seventh Edition version of Inspiration on April 2, 2001, The flavortext on Inspiration was removed.
With the release of the Eighth Edition version of Inspiration on July 28, 2003, The flavortext on Inspiration was modified to read: Madness and genius are separated only by degrees of success.
