Derelor was originally released on November 1994 with the release of the Fallen Empires Magic The Gathering edition. This card has since been reprinted in 3 sets, with the artistry all being drawn by the same artist.
With the release of the Fifth Edition version of Derelor on March 1997, The flavortext on Derelor was modified to read: "The derelor's greatest contribution to the Ebon Hand was the inspirational effect its creator's execution had upon the other thrull breeders." —Sarpadian Empires, vol. II
