Bloodrock Cyclops was originally released on June 1997 with the release of the Weatherlight Magic The Gathering edition. This card has since been reprinted in 3 sets, with 2 artists contributing to the various card designs.

With the release of the Tenth Edition version of Bloodrock Cyclops on July 13, 2007, The flavortext on Bloodrock Cyclops was modified to read: "There are only fifty words in the cyclops language, and ten of them mean ‘kill.'" —Ertai
